Up and down the Cardinals system, eleven young pitchers have worked hard to get back into action from injuries. Five of them have made it so far, including two who have returned from shoulder ailments.
The St. Louis Cardinals signed right-handed pitcher Robert Ransom and re-signed third baseman Juan Richardson to 2007 contracts with the Double-A Springfield Cardinals.

Robert Ransom has spent time in many a big city throughout his young baseball career. Among the stops on the 2003 23rd-round draft pick's resume are Atlanta (his hometown), Nashville (where he attended college), and the White House.
Robert Ransom, (6-3, 225, Atlanta, Ga.) has signed a professional baseball contract with the Chicago Cubs and will forego his final year of eligibility with the Commodores. The right-handed pitcher was drafted in the 23rd round (673rd pick) of the 2003 Major League Baseball Draft on June 4.
