Jamie Dixon has had some rough road trips in his time with the Pitt men's basketball team, so the Panthers head coach -- who briefly went into panic mode Monday despite predictions for good weather -- attempted to get his team to New York City for the Big East Tournament a day early.

The Backyard Brawl changed the Pitt football program dramatically after the Panthers stuffed West Virginia 13-9 Dec. 1, 2007, and the 174th installment of the basketball version tonight at 7 at the Petersen Events Center should affect it as well, albeit not as drastically.

For the second straight game, it appeared as though the Pitt men's basketball team let a large lead evaporate with poor shooting and shoddy defense, but this time the Panthers were quick to turn things around in a 69-57 win against Villanova Wednesday night at the Petersen Events Center.
