When Stanford Baseball had their backs against the wall in 2006, they looked to Chris Minaker at the plate, in the field and in the locker room. The senior shortstop carried the Card through an up-and-down season, including a glorious flash at the NCAA Regional that stunned college baseball. Minaker was the man, and we honor him as our third announced winner of The Bootleg's 2005-06 Honor Roll.

The two-day MLB draft is complete with seven Cardinal players hearing their name called. Ace starting pitcher Greg Reynolds headlines the list with the selection at #2 overall to Colorado. All four seniors will begin their professional careers once the college season ends while two more juniors have the option of going pro or returning to the Farm for one more year.

It was a blockbuster weekend for Stanford Baseball, winning three straight games and taking the Austin Regional of the NCAA Tournament by storm. It was no surprise that the Cardinal claimed the lion's share of spots on the All-Tournament Team, with six players on the 11-man roster from the four-team regional. Here are the Stanford standouts, led by three seniors, and their game-by-game stats.

Stanford appears to be peaking at the right time. Sunday saw the Cardinal pound out 24 hits in a 17-7 victory over N.C. State to claim the Austin Regional championship. Chris Minaker went a perfect 5-for-5 with six runs scored while Michael Taylor smacked a key home run to lead the dominant offensive attack. Stanford now advances to the super regionals where they'll meet Oregon State.

On the eve of NCAA Tournament play, check out various notes and statistics from all of the teams in the Austin Regional. The Cardinal and Wolfpack are scheduled for a 9:00 A.M. (PDT) first pitch on Friday morning.

This could have been a dark day for Stanford Baseball, and for the Cardinal's seniors in particular. Following two unconscionable losses on Friday and Saturday, Stanford seriously sweated this morning's announcement of the 64-team NCAA Tournament field. Senior Chris Minaker celebrated with his teammates the Cardinal's #3 seed in the Austin Regional and afterward talked on a wide range of subjects.

Stanford pounded out a season-high 19 hits Wednesday afternoon en route to a 14-8 victory over the host Pacific Tigers. The Cardinal used a six-run top of the sixth inning to take the lead for good while a freshman right-hander slammed the door in long relief. The win gives Stanford 30 on the year - the 13th consecutive season they've accomplished that feat.
