Iowa entered their game versus the Gophers struggling from the outside and the charity stripe. However, those problems were not evident as they defeated Minnesota 83-68 on the road. Iowa lost their previous game to Northwestern and had won just two of their last six. The Hawkeyes were also missing two key reserves due to academics, and starting center Jared Reiner was slowed by a foot injury. But the Gophers' shooting woes and so-so defense cost them as they fell to 0-2 in conference play.
