Washington Has Positive Outlook

Alabama's football players get the weekend off, but not before getting in some work. The Crimson Tide had three days of practice, finishing Thursday with full gear work in the indoor practice facility. Players were to have a weight-lifting session on Friday, then get the weekend off since number two ranked Bama is not playing a game Saturday.

Explosive plays propelled No. 3 Alabama to a 35-7 win over Arkansas in the SEC opener at Bryant-Denny Stadium last Saturday afternoon. After a scoreless first quarter, Alabama took the lead on its first touch of the second quarter and would never look back.

Tide Tries To Stay Focused On Game

Brandon Deaderick was released from DCH Medical Center in Tuscaloosa Tuesday afternoon and made a brief appearance at Alabama football practice. The focus was on Deaderick after he was shot and wounded by a would-be robber Monday night. This weekend he'll be on the minds of Tide players, but they'll have to focus on Virginia Tech.
