The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced on Sunday that right-hander Vladimir Veras has been assigned to the Orem Owlz of the Pioneer League and that left-hander Blake Holler has been activated from the Owlz roster.

Pitching Gems in Rancho and Orem

Rancho starter Karl Gelinas collected his second career complete game in fine fashion with a four-hitter in the Cal League. Owlz pitchers gave up just three hits in 10 innings. In Arkansas, however, it was all offense in a game that featured nine home runs. Salt Lake was back to baseball - not beer league softball - thanks to Joe Saunders while Cedar Rapids couldn't get the key hit.

Seven Cardinal Players Drafted

The two-day MLB draft is complete with seven Cardinal players hearing their name called. Ace starting pitcher Greg Reynolds headlines the list with the selection at #2 overall to Colorado. All four seniors will begin their professional careers once the college season ends while two more juniors have the option of going pro or returning to the Farm for one more year.

Card Rout Bruins To Take Series

A day after a heartbreaking loss to UCLA, the Cardinal bounced back with a convincing 11-1 victory over the Bruins on Sunday afternoon at Sunken Diamond. Matt Leva and Blake Holler combined on a three-hitter on the mound while Jed Lowrie led the offensive attack. In addition, a Cardinal hitter smacked his first career home run.
