Rockies agree to terms with Casey Blake

Tuesday the Rockies held a press conference to announce the Michael Cuddyer signing and the club added that terms have been agreed upon with veteran third basemen Casey Blake for a one year deal. Over the last three and a half years with the Dodgers Blake has a .260/.338/.431 batting line and 107 adjusted-OPS (OPS+). The deal guarantees Blake $2 million with another $1 million in incentives.

Manny Ramirez reached the half-way mark in his suspension, but as far as results go, they haven't missed him.

If one had been told last year that Manny Ramirez would be suspended and that Andre Ethier would be locked in a death-spiral of a slump come May, one might have sold his Dodger stock and bought, say, Morgan-Stanley or something. But now after 41 games, they are working things out extremely well on a hero-of-the-day basis and third baseman Casey Blake took his turn last night.
