On the surface, 49er Curtis Taylor has everything one would want in a young safety. He's got ideal height at 6'2", a solid frame, he can run, he's not the least bit shy about laying the wood on the field, and he thrived while at LSU, playing in the best conference in college football, the SEC.
So why is he in danger of being out of a job?

Heading into the 2007 season, one of the biggest concerns for this LSU team was replacing All-American LaRon Landry at free safety. Curtis Taylor has done a brilliant job of stepping in where Landry left off.

LSU picked up its seventh commitment for the Class of 2004 from Franklinton athlete Curtis Taylor (6-2, 190, 4.4), and he could be the Tigers' top unknown commodity in the upcoming signing class.
