2007 Vandal Football Team Awards

For the second year in a row, numerous Idaho team records fell. Tailback Deonte Jackson set a new freshman rushing record. Shiloh Keo set a new record for yards per punt return, and set a new record with a 100 yard punt return. David Vobora led the WAC in tackles for the second year in a row. And among the 2007 redshirt class, tightend KEVIN SMALL earned Offensive Scout Team POY honors.

Robb Akey Post Game (Idaho vs NIU)

Inside coach Akey discusses the performance of runningback JAYSON BIRD, quarterback Nathan Enderle, the emergence of true freshman wide receiver Maurice Shaw, and the phenominal play of safety Shiloh Keo. Despite the 42-35 loss to Northern Illinois, Idaho's young team made strides, particularly coming back from a 35-7 first half deficit to have a chance to tie - or win - on the last play.

Post Game: Vandals comment on loss to WSU

In a game with very few bright spots, JC transfer wide receiver MARLON HAYNES played in his first game for Idaho and provided one of the best catches of the day and gave a glimpse into what Idaho has to look forward to in the weeks ahead. Haynes was one of several athletes available to speak to the media after this game about what happened this week.

Photo Gallery: Vandals put scare into MSU

Idaho held a 31:27 - 27:25 advantage in time of possession, went 7 of 16 on third down conversions, and were within a touchdown of Michigan State before the Spartans kicked a 23 yard field goal with 30 seconds left in the game. The day show-cased a new-look offense for the Vandals and a tough defense that played well wire-to-wire. Inside is a look at the game in photos.

2 Minute Drill with Jayson Bird

When the Vandals take the field in just over a week in East Lansing against Michigan State of the Big Ten, the starting runningback will be Idaho's own JAYSON BIRD. A redshirt sophomore out of Shelley (Ida.), Bird burst onto the scene as a true freshman and finished with 850 yards rushing. He's back from a season ending injury that ended his '05 season in the second game, and is ready to go.
