Abrams, another double double from Dexter Pittman, and 18 points from Damion James. The first round win sets up a game on Saturday in Greensboro with the winner of Duke and Binghamton.

Abrams Carries Texas Past #2 Oklahoma

The Texas Longhorns took the floor Saturday night with their backs firmly against the wall. After losing four of the last six games and entering the showdown with the #2 Oklahoma Sooners sitting at 6-5 in Big 12 play, the Longhorns were in desperate need of a big win. What they got was a sensational performance from A.J. Abrams in the closing minutes resulting in a 73-68 win.

Texas Blows Out Defenseless Oklahoma State

The Texas Longhorns needed to get well and the Oklahoma State Cowboys were just what the doctor ordered. The Longhorns came out on fire in the first half racing out to a 15-point lead before blowing out the Cowboys in the second half and cruising to a 99-74 win.

Texas Hoops Falters Late Again

The #7 Texas Longhorns played winning basketball for 30 minutes on Tuesday night at Arkansas, but faltered down the stretch again, losing to the hated Razorbacks 67-61. The loss concludes the non-conference slate and Texas heads into Big 12 play at 11-3.

The #5 Texas Longhorns again played a lethargic first half on Tuesday night in Austin before pulling away late for 16-point win, 88-72, over winless Texas Southern. A.J. Abrams again led the way for Texas with 27 points, while junior center Dexter Pittman poured in a career-high 19 points.

Longhorns win 81-73 in sloppy fashion

The #6 Texas Longhorns came into Saturday as team that could face a letdown after playing a rigorous schedule that included a big win Tuesday against Villanova. Letdown or not, the Longhorns simply didn't come to play Saturday afternoon, but snuck away with an 81-73 win over Texas State.
