Padres Win in Extra Innings

The San Diego Padres had plenty of chances to win over the course of nine innings, but were unable to pull it off. Instead the game went to extra innings and the Giants scored in the top of the tenth before the Friars came back to score two in the bottom of the tenth to get the win., 5-4.

Taylor Grand Slam Beats Padres, 9-5

Reggie Taylor's second career grand slam paved the way for the Cincinnati Reds to beat the San Diego Padres 9-5. With a star-studded lineup, it was only a matter of time before Cincinnati brought the big bats out. No one thought it would come from Taylor.

Padres Can't Sweep, Lose 10-4

After taking the front end of the twin bill, 6-4, they ran out of gas as the Phillies gained a split on Saturday. Placido Polanco and Bobby Abreu each drove in three runs in the nightcap, powering the Phillies to a 10-4 win over the Padres in front of 35,239 fans, who were treated to human cannonballs in between games.
