Ciriaco slam; Jimenez has a first

The pitching woes continue for Brandon Emanuel and Angel Tovar. Mike Thompson has had no trouble with the baseball in his hand. Juan Ciriaco came on to pinch hit for Khalil Greene and came through in a major way. Fabian Jimenez hit his first stumbling block of the year.

McAnulty and Sain; Sean Thompson classic

Some newcomers to the Portland Beavers couldn't hold down the fort while Ben Risinger continues to sizzle. Paul McAnulty saved the day in the ninth and Greg Sain topped it off with a win for Mobile. Sean Thompson won his first Cal League start in Thompson-esque fashion. Chris Kolkhorst continues his hot Fort Wayne hand.

Vasquez walk-off; Chuck Bechtel oh so grand

Ramon Vasquez smashed two homers, including a walk-off. Two other Beavers returned to play on Sunday with Portland. Brian Whitaker returned from his pectoral strain injury while fellow Mobile BayBear Mike Thompson shared his views on his past few starts. Ferdin Tejeda made his debut with the Storm after being claimed by the Padres last week. Life for Chuck Bechtel is not so grand. Brian Burks has hit one of his few rough spots this year.
