AS WEEKS GO, it doesn't get much better than the one Baltimore's Devard Darling just had. Not only did the Washington State alum catch the game deciding touchdown for the Ravens on Sunday, he also became a father for the first time, as his wife, Cicely, gave birth to Devard Darling Jr on Wednesday.

FOR THE SECOND week in a row, a Washington State alum has earned NFL "player of the week" honors. Last week it was Buffalo's Rian Lindell awarded the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his five field goal performance; this week the NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors went to Seahawk Marcus Trufant, who tallied three air-thefts against Arizona,returning one of those 84 yards for a TD.
