Jesse Garcia bags seven; Arturo Lopez struggles

Jesse Garcia drove in seven runs for Portland. Corey Smith had another two homer night and Mobile pumped five over the fence. Arturo Lopez is struggling mightily and he knows it. Cesar Ramos secured the win in game one with a complete game but the nightcap went extra innings and an error was the undoing. Fabian Jimenez walked five but picked up the win. Ernesto Frieri continues the hot hand and two newcomers have solid showings.

Xavier Nady four straight; Chris Kolkhorst center

Justin Germano has been lights out for Portland. Xavier Nady homered for the fourth straight. Joe Gerber in his return to Mobile hit a solo homer in the bottom of the ninth inning. A stolen base and a pitching gem were the keys in Lake Elsinore as the Storm won it in the ninth. Don't play Chris Kolkhorst anywhere but in centerfield. Steve Delabar had his finest start of the year.
