The San Diego Padres suspended Marcus Nettles and officially moved him on to the suspension list. More movement in the system occurred as a result. Greg Conden was promoted from the Fort Wayne Wizards to the Mobile BayBears and Joe Lima was added to Mobile from the Lake Elsinore Storm disabled list.

Dennis Tankersley injured; No Brad Baker

Dennis Tankersley left the game early after getting hit by a liner. Another game without Brad Baker spells doom for the Mobile BayBears. Greg Sain wins Hitter of the Week. News on Marcus Nettles. Aaron Coonrod gets a start. Sean Thompson is hammered. Trino Aguilar forgets the out count while Mauber Lopez debuts. Michael Johnson is hitting well – with Peoria.

Struggles continue on the farm

Freddy Guzman was thrown out trying to steal. Mobile had the day off. Chris Tierney struggled again for Lake Elsinore. Paul Abraham makes his second appearance for Fort Wayne and the results are less than perfect. Eugene begins play on Friday, as the roster becomes known. Peoria begins to fill out its roster.

Two Day Padres Minor League Notebook

Jon Knott was promoted to San Diego as Ryan Klesko goes to the disabled list. Freddy Guzman gets his first steal in Portland after getting 17 in Mobile. Errors cost Mobile one game. Lake Elsinore's pursuit of first place takes a hit, as the team could barely hit on Thursday. Fort Wayne is seeing some players emerge while another finds no solace on the mound.

Lake Elsinore, Inland Empire come close to blows

Call it an old fashioned brawl. When the top team in the division is playing number two, it is inevitable that emotions will run high as they did when Marcus Nettles was hit by a pitch. With the 5-3 win on Wednesday, Lake Elsinore is just a half game back of Inland Empire. The Storm have won the first two games of the series and a win in the finale would not only complete the sweep, but put them into first place.
