For at least the first half, it looked like Miles Schlichter and the Miami Trace Panthers had what it took to upset the the number one team in Division II, Region 8. Schlichter threw for almost 200 yards and two touchdowns but it wasn't enough to defeat Springboro who came out strong in the second half after trailing 13-10 at the intermission to earn a 38-19 victory. A four-year starter, Schlichter now hopes his prolific career at Trace will help earn him a Division I scholarship somewhere.

Two of the top prospects at OSU's first senior advanced camp session yesterday were OL Connor Smith of Cincinnati Colerain and QB Miles Schlichter of Washington Court House Miami Trace. We have updates on both today, including word from Smith on when he will be announcing a decision.

Before he decides on what school he will eventually attend, Nate Davis of Bellaire High School will have to decide on what sport between football and basketball that he will participate in at the next level. Davis, who admits to liking basketball a bit more right now, has a cannon for an arm and considers himself to be a pocket passer. Any interested school should consider itself lucky if he should decide that he wants to pass from the pocket for them.

Quarterback Miles Schlichter has been prominently talked about in the recruiting circles for two years now and he hopes to pick a college before his senior season begins. The nephew of the former Buckeye great, Art Schlichter, has yet to receive any scholarship offers but he could be just as comfortable playing in the MAC or the Big Ten. Is Ohio State one of the schools he would like to attend?
