Padres release 17 from minor leagues

With Minor League play just a week away, the Padres released 17 players from minor league camp this morning. Most of the players released were at Single-A or below last season or were brought in during the offseason.

Daniel Moore returns; Clark Girardeau no support

In the one of two games on the day, the Lake Elsinore Storm lost 2-1. Clark Girardeau pitched another gem but took the loss, his first since joining the Storm. The Peoria Padres won 6-4 and saw the return of Daniel Moore to the pitching rotation. Julio Cruceta had another strong game.
