Madieu Williams joins Redskins

Veteran free agent safety Madieu Williams agreed to terms with the Washington Redskins, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation. Williams visited the Redskins last Friday and the Atlanta Falcons on Monday. The former Cincinnati Bengals and Minnesota Vikings starter was with the San Francisco 49ers last season. He had nine tackles in 15 games with three starts.

Vikings release Madieu Williams, DT Kennedy

Only minutes after the waiver period for 2011 started in the NFL, the Vikings released former starting safety Madieu Williams, along with backup defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy and practice squad receiver Freddie Brown.

Cap conundrum? Contracts to consider
