WORD DOWN California way is that Washington State is one of the leaders in the recruiting race for defensive end <b>Letrell Myers</b>, a 6-4, 240-pound "diamond in the rough" from Riverside Community College who never played high school ball and has overcome a hard-knock childhood to earn the serious attention of numerous major-college recruiters. A former Riverside coach calls Myers a "great kid who reminds me of <b>Derrick Rodgers</b> (current NFL and former Arizona State standout)."
