Mission Accomplished: Pels Get Terrence Jones

Although the New Orleans Pelicans have been quietly filling holes up and down the roster with quality free agents the last two weeks, there was still a gaping hole for a quality, experienced power forward to back up Anthony Davis. That hole was filled today. Today, the Pelicans came to an agreement with Davis' former Kentucky Wildcat Championship teammate Terrence Jones. Considering what the funds they had to work with, this is an incredible find for the Pels. Here's the complete story.

Rude Homecoming for CP3

They say you're supposed to be kind to your guests, but the New Orleans Pelicans were in no mood to be hospitable, after learning superstar forward Anthony Davis will be out for the season with two significant injuries which will require surgery. Triple that with point guard Jrue Holiday's mandated minutes restriction to help heal his perennially injured leg, the Pels are definitely weakened inside, but their new up-tempo style of play just got a big boost!

Although centers Omer Asik & Alexis Ajinca will never be confused with NBA All-Stars, it was imperative for the Pelicans to re-sign both of them in the offseason. But with Ajinca's strained hamstring keeping him out the next 4-6 weeks, get ready for even more of Coach Alvin Gentry's frenetic, fast paced basketball.
