CBN's Minnesota All-State Team

The Minnesota boy's high school tournament kicked off Wednesday, so it seemed like the perfect time to announce the College Basketball News' Minnesota All-State Team. Junior forward Isaiah Dahlman of Braham is the choice for Minnesota Player of the Year. Braham opens defense of their Class AA state championship Thursday against Minneapolis DeLaSalle. He is joined on the twelve-man team by teammate Josh Vaughan along with two other top juniors and a standout sophomore.

Minnesota Mr. Basketball Top Six Candidates Named

The Mr. Basketball of Minnesota Committee announced its six finalists for the 2005 Mr. Basketball Award. All six players will be playing in the Minnesota Boy's State Championship. The award is for seniors only. The winner will be announced at the 31st Annual Mr./Miss BasketballAwards Banquet which will be held on Sunday, April 17th, 5:00 p.m., at the Minneapolis Holiday Inn West in St. Louis Park. Tickets are $30 and must be purchased in advance. The following is a look at the six finalists.

The Mr. Basketball of Minnesota Committee announced the Top 15 Candidates for the 2005 Mr. Basketball Award. The five finalists will be announced the week of the Boy's State Tournament. Richfield knocks off undefeated Sioux City East

Richfield (12-3), ranked No. 4 in Class 3A, defeated perennial Iowa powerhouse Sioux City East, who entered the game 13-0 and ranked #2 in Class AAAA 67-64 in the second game of the Gatorade Timberwolves Shootout at the Target Center.

MN Guard Ray Brown commits to MVC

Ray Brown, a 6-6 senior guard from Richfield (MN) High who is considered one of the top players in Minnesota, has committed to Bradley. Brown led the Spartans to a 21-5 mark last season and a number one regular season ranking. Unfortunately, they were upset in the playoffs by crosstown rival Holy Angels. He averaged 20 points, seven rebounds and six assists last season.
