In sweeping the Colorado State Rams 67-58 in The Chamber at Clune arena, the #17 ranked Falcons also moved into a special place nationally. With a packed house at Clune Arena (aka The Chamber), Air Force was slow to stop excellent shooting by New Mexico in the 1st half. The 2nd half started with the Falcons down by 15... But the Falcon fans urged wildly as the team relentlessly applied their stifling defense and took over the game. The Lobos didn't stand a chance!

In the Falcon's conference home opener the Birds took on and beat the highly touted UNLV Rebels. The Rebels came into Clune arena playing very good baskeball and sporting a 14-2 record. Stalagian provides his post-game view of this, the Falcons, 15th win (and 1 loss) on the year.

The first game last night at Maples Pavilion was a tooth-and-nail fight to the finish between Long Beach State and Air Force. The #32-ranked Falcons prevailed and this evening will battle Stanford for the right to play in Kansas City next week in the semifinals of the CBE Classic against Duke. After scouting Air Force last night, Chris Jaenike previews the matchups on both ends of the floor.
