Jeff Weaver, making a spot start, was tapped for six hits and four runs before leaving the game in the fourth inning, but two of the runs were unearned and the Dodgers could never make up an early deficit and lost a 6-3 decision. Milwaukee starter Mike Burns and three relievers struck out 11.

Thirty-three year old Eric Milton, and a solid 12-hit batting attack, gave the Dodgers a split in the four-game series in Chicago and a 5-2 road trip record as they went 20-9 in May, posting its highest win total for the month since going 21-7 in 1962. The Dodgers opened the first inning with five straight singles, added a double and led 5-0 before the Cubs came to bat.

Eric Milton, who last won in St. Louis on August 8, 2008, scattered seven hits and overwhelmed Colorado before leaving in the sixth inning as the Dodgers wrapped up a 7-1 win, their seventh in eight games against the Rockies. Casey Blake had a key three-run double in the fifth.

The Phillies have ten free agents and the front office staff is spending the week thinking about what to do with them. Some of the decisions on free agents are pretty easy, while others are tougher. Suffice it to say though that many faces on the Phillies roster could change during the off-season.
