Matt DeSalvo has been one of the most reliable starters for the Scranton Yankees in 2007, and his consistency has made him the top candidate to make emergency starts for the Yankees this season, warranting three promotions to the majors. But with every call-up, DeSalvo's control and overall effectiveness has diminished.

The Yankees signed Matt DeSalvo as an undrafted free agent as a fifth year senior sign back in 2003. Holding numerous Division III pitching records, Matt DeSalvo owns one of the deepest repertoires in all of baseball. He was enduring personal problems however in 2006 and while he suffered through his worst season ever, the Yankees still believe in him. Here's a scouting report on Matt DeSalvo.
