Five Vandals Earn ALL-WAC Honors

THREE Vandals were named First Team All-WAC selections for 2008: Seniors EDDIE WILLIAMS (TE, Team Captain), T.J. Conley (P, National leader), and Adam Korby (C, Team Captain), who earned All-WAC honors for the second year in a row. In addition, Idaho had two players named to the Second Team: Junior left guard Mike Iupati, and Idaho's record-setting senior field goal kicker Tino Amancio.

Vandal Seniors To Be Honored Saturday

IN FRONT OF A SELLOUT CROWD in the Kibbie Dome this Saturday (2pm kickoff), the University of Idaho will honor the football team's 17 seniors in a pregame ceremony. Idaho fans are encouraged to wear BLACK to this rivalry game, with the Vandals hosting a Boise State team that is currently No. 1 in the Western Athletic Conference and ranked No. 9 in the nation in this week's BCS standings.

Tall Order Against San Jose State

Senior left tackle BILLY BATES (6-5.5, 280) was honored this week with the Vandal Pride Award for his performance last Saturday against New Mexico State, when Idaho's senior-laden offensive line paved the way for 271-yards rushing in the Idaho victory. Bates and his fellow linemen face an enormous task this week as San Jose State rolls into Moscow with one of the best defensive lines in the WAC.

PHOTO GALLERY: Idaho vs Fresno State

Saturday's game at Fresno State was a disappointing loss, but in the process the Vandals scored their most points of the season as they mounted a furious second half comeback before falling to the Bulldogs 45-32 in Fresno, California. True freshman wide receiver PRESTON DAVIS led a three touchdown second half effort by the Vandals, as QB Nathan Enderle threw for 237 yards, three TDs and no picks.

Following Idaho's 42-27 home opening victory over Idaho State, Idaho wide receiver MAURICE SHAW and Offensive Team Captain Adam Korby (four-year starter at center) talked to the media. Questions focused on Mo's 77-yard touchdown reception on the first play of the game that electrified the Idaho crowd and Vandal football team.

Coming off productive spring and fall training camps, with team depth improved and a solid recruiting class in the fold (many of whom played tonight) and sporting brand new uniforms, the Vandals went to Tucson Saturday and were steamrolled in every facet of the game to the tune of 70-0 by the Wildcats.
