Anyone still wondering if the Colorado Buffaloes are an NCAA tourney worthy team this season, ask any one of the roughly 500 fans that stormed the court at the Coors Events Center Wednesday night to celebrate the Buffs' come-from-behind victory over No. 19 Oklahoma. CU played arguably its best game of the season, and earned itself the most impressive win of the year, beating a good Oklahoma team 84-75.

With the Colorado Buffaloes delicately perched on the bubble of the NCAA Tournament, by many prognosticators' estimation, a win over No. 19 Oklahoma would look very good on Colorado's résumé. The Sooners have played well of late, bolstered by one of the league's best pair of inside players.

Coming off his 27-point performance in CU's win at Oklahoma State, Richard Roby nabbed his second-consecutive Big 12 Player of the Week award. Colorado head coach Ricardo Patton emptied his bench early as the Buffs cruised to a 117-74 victory over Mercer at home Thursday night. All 17 CU players saw court time, and three Buffs scored in double figures, including freshman walk-on guard Kyle Carder, who had 13 points.

It appears Colorado senior center Julius Ashby has made the grade and is now eligible for the remainder of the Buffs' games after sitting out the first semester. Though Ashby said he had yet to see his grade from one fall class, on Wednesday afternoon head coach Ricardo Patton said Ashby was "certified eligible."

Senior center Julius Ashby, Colorado's best true low-post player coming into this season, has missed the team's first six games after being declared academically ineligible. Head coach Ricardo Patton said Thursday, Ashby's eligibility for the rest of the season could be determined any day now.

Starting center Julius Ashby will miss the first part of the upcoming basketball season, according to a report in the (Boulder) Daily Camera. Ashby, a senior, will not be eligible until either late December or January because of academic reasons.
