Spring Preview: Wide Receivers and Tight Ends

In 2004 one of the things the receiving corp focused on was simply catching passes. That mission was accomplished as quarterback Michael Harrington had the 2nd best single-season completion percentage EVER for an Idaho QB, completing a stellar 65.8% of his passes. Led by junior-to-be <b>Wendell Octave</b> (36 receptions in '04), Idaho will now look to stretch the field more in '05 with a mix of experienced returners and new prospects.

Vandals hang tough but fall to UNT

Idaho true freshman wide receiver <b>Desmond Belton</b> eclipsed 150 receiving yards against North Texas on Saturday night, while senior TE Willie Sipoloa filled in admirably at RB in Idaho's depleted backfield, but it was too much to overcome as Idaho fell in Denton, TX 51-29 to the Sun Belt Champions.

With just 2 weeks remaining before the season opener in Boise, the Vandals (including RS-sophomore place kicker <b>Mike Barrow</b>) continue to prepare aggressively for the season ahead. Most of the 2004 recruiting class continue to see significant PT this fall, as the staff looks to fill the depth chart for the coming season.
