Colorado basketball coach Jeff Bzdelik got a pass last year. It didn't really matter what his team did on the court, the truth everyone knew was he inherited a mess from former coach Ricardo Patton, and it would be lunacy to expect much considering the talent he had at his disposal.

Casey Crawford was a 3-star hoops prospect according to Scout.com coming out of high school last year this time. He signed with Wake Forest and played sparingly his freshman season, then decided to transfer from the ACC school. He visited Colorado earlier in May and quickly decided he wanted to play for new CU head coach Jeff Bzdelik. Inside, a Q&A with Crawford.

It is an exciting time at the Crawford household of Overland Park, Kansas. That's because Casey Crawford made his college decision this past week, giving his word that he will attend Wake Forest University on a full basketball scholarship.

Now that all of the state championships have wrapped up and most of the various All State and All Metro teams have been announced it's time to move on to spring and summer ball. However, before moving on to the spring, those who follow the Kansas City hoops scene may be interested in taking a look back at the season that was. Making lists like this is never easy but the guards, in particular, were really tough to choose from.

Casey Crawford, a 6-foot-9 center/power forward from Overland Park (KS) Blue Valley North, is one of the top unsigned big men in the Midwest. Crawford helped lead the K.C. Pump and Run to the Price Chopper/ Kansas City Prep Invitational title the last week in July and the Final Eight of the adidas Super 64 in Las Vegas the previous week and is having an outstanding season for the Mustangs. Crawford had early interest from Minnesota, which could pick up this spring.
