Dave McClain

Dave McClain was one of the prize recruits in Greg Schiano's 2005 recruiting class. The 6'4"-320lbs OL received numerous honors including first-team All-State in Pennsylania, first-team All-Area by the Philadelphia Inquirer, all in addition to being named to the Superprep All-American team. The Rutgers staff was able to beat out Louisville, Purdue, Marshall, and Temple for his services. Now he is on campus and getting use to college football.

Down to two schools? A decision in 48 hours? Over the last week, Rutgers has added a number of skilled players to their 2005 recruiting class with the committments of Jabulani Lovelace, Chris McClover, and Davon Smart. But games are won and lost on the line. Therefore, Rutgers will pursue the addition of more linemen to the class. One of the targets is Dave McClain. After de-committing from Maryland, the big OL has attracted scholarship offers from Purdue, Marshall, Louisville, Temple, and RU.

Following his unofficial visit to Louisville two weeks ago, 3-star offensive lineman Dave McClain was looking forward to his visit from U of L and had hoped that he'd receive a scholarship offer from the Cardinals at that time.
