After nearly a decade of stability at the hot corner, the Oakland A's have been struggling to find a permanent solution at third base since Eric Chavez began struggling with injuries in 2007. The team is hopeful that recent acquisition Kevin Kouzmanoff will provide that stability. Chavez is still working on his return from injury, however, which could create an interesting scenario for him in 2010

The Oakland A's might have one or two of their top pitching prospects with them when they break camp. Vince Mazzaro, Trevor Cahill and Brett Anderson all have been impressive this spring while competing for at least one and possibly two spots.

The Oakland A's started spring with a crowded major league camp, with 63 players on-hand, the most since Billy Martin brought 80 players to camp in 1982. While only 25 of those players will break camp with the team, there are more who are likely to be key cogs for the A's over the next few years. We are taking a look at the position battles in camp this spring, continuing with the IFs and Cs.
