Jose Castro had a tough job as the hitting coach of the Portland Beavers. Instead of helping a Triple-A team it seemed like he was coaching the JV squad. There were, however, a few bright spots.

Organizational Roster Moves

The Toronto Blue Jays have outrighted RHP Jason Arnold and INF Raul Tablado to Syracuse of the International League (AAA), and purchased the contracts of of RHP Ryan Houston and INF Rob Cosby, therefore adding them to the 40-man roster. In addition, C Ken Huckaby and INF Frank Menechino have elected to become free agents after declining assignments to Syracuse.
