The Arizona Diamondbacks have agreed to terms with first baseman Adam LaRoche on a one-year contract for 2010, with a mutual option for 2011. LaRoche will receive $4.5 million this year and has a mutual option clause for $7.5 million in 2011 with a $1.5 million buyout. The buyout increases to $9.5 million if LaRoche is traded.

The acquisition of Aaron Heilman was just the beginning for the Arizona Diamondbacks offseason. They may add another bullpen arm and a veteran corner infielder, plus they are certain to add an innings-eater to slot fourth in their starting rotation as they promise to increase their $73 million payroll from last year.
