Pelicans Firm Up Defense

It might not have been the huge splash in the free agency pool that New Orleans hoop fans were hoping for, but the Pelicans agreed to terms this afternoon with a player who should help them immensely on the defensive end this upcoming season. Here's everything you always wanted to know about the Pels newest addition, small forward Solomon Hill. NOTE: Agreements cannot become official until July 7th....99% of the time they do, but don't forget about the DeAndre Jordan fiasco last summer!

Another Day, Another Big Injury

The Pelicans injury situation has gotten so ridiculous that even the most cynical of fans are actually starting to feel sorry for the team. The Pels five year run of injuries is among the most total games missed in NBA history. This year alone, Pelicans players have already missed 175 games and counting. And that number is about to get even worse....and even more surreal. Just a week after shooting guard Eric Gordon returned from a broken right finger, guess what happened tonight?

Point of No Return?

Although most NBA observers looked at the New Orleans Pelicans as being a year or two away from being serious Championship contenders, many others expected the young, veteran team to take a major step toward that goal. Well, it's been several giant steps backwards. And with Lebron James & the Cleveland Cavaliers coming to town, it seems like a bad time for the Pelicans to snap out of yet another 4-game losing streak. But more importantly, can they possibly dig out of this deep hole?

Pelicans Struggle But Almost Healthy

With two more key players returning to the lineup this week, the Pelicans gave glimpses at the playoff type basketball they are capable of...but the frustrating inconsistency remains. Guards Tyreke Evans & Norris Cole both played plenty of minutes in back-to-back games against Western Conference powers Memphis & Houston. Evans in particular showed he one of the most versatile guards in the NBA....and here's the REST OF THE STORY.

Tyreke Coming Back Soon

It's been an incredibly tough start to the NBA season for the New Orleans Pelicans...for the 5th straight year, the Pels have been decimated by injuries. Everyone in the Big Easy expected a big improvement over last year's 45-win playoff team, but until this past weekend, the season has been a big disappointment. However, things are looking up...the injured players are slowly matriculating back into the lineup, and guard Tyreke Evans might be back a month earlier than expected.

Outmanned Pels Drop Season Opener

Going into the New Orleans Pelicans season opener Tuesday night, fans knew the team would already be without 3 starters & two key players off the bench. That's bad enough, but the news got worse as it was announced that All-Star guard Jrue Holiday would also miss the game with his chronic, never-ending leg injury. Even with only 9 players in uniform, & Anthony Davis having one of his worst games as a pro, the team hung tough for a half, but it wasn't enough against the reigning NBA Champions.

Pelicans Injuries Piling Up

There's been no team in the NBA which has suffered more major injuries over the past 5 seasons than the New Orleans Pelicans organization. Everyone hoped that this would be the year the "Law of Averages" theory would finally even things out for the Pels. But if this preseason is any indication of what the regular season holds, they better keep paying their health insurance premiums, because this injury list has gotten downright ridiculous.

Lorenzo Romar Draft Q&A

Washington Head Coach Lorenzo Romar took time out of a busy night in New Jersey as part of Terrence Ross' Green Room entourage to answer questions from the media about Ross and Tony Wroten being selected in the first round of the 2012 NBA Draft Thursday night, and how that will impact Washington recruiting from now on. Romar also fielded questions about his new Twitter account!
