Last November, it was thought that Roy Upchurch had played his final football game in the state of Alabama at Auburn. And what a game it was, with Upchurch catching the winning touchdown pass in the final moments to complete an undefeated regular season for the Crimson Tide with Bama's 26-21 win over Auburn. Late Sunday, Upchurch found out he'll play another game in the state.

Imagine a boy growing up in Auburn, being an Alabama fan, and ending up at Florida preparing to play Alabama. Now consider Roy Upchurch. He grew up in Tallahassee, home of Florida State, but was a fan of both Florida and Miami. Upchurch ended up with the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Even with the loss of 2008's rushing leader, Glen Coffee, the Tide will have a stocked cupboard for 2009. Mark Ingram constitutes a powerful back with very good speed and enough lateral quickness to make defenders miss. Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban was burned in effigy on the eve of his return to LSU, taunted as he exited the team bus for the stadium, and jeered with foul insults during the game. But it was Saban and his top-ranked Crimson Tide that got the last word with a 27-21 overtime win in Baton Rouge Saturday evening.

A few weeks ago, while watching the Alabama-Vanderbilt game on TV with a small group of friends, Brian Motley made a bold prediction. Motley, who would have been the starting noseguard for 'Bama save a leg injury, said he'd start the Florida State game. Turns out, he wasn't as far off on that prediction as some may have thought.
