If there was a player that you were rooting for, to get qualified in 2005, it might have been Wallace Franklin. Franklin tried multiple times in the first part of 2005 to get the necessary score, but came up just shy of a passing mark. A year and a half has been spent about 300 miles south of Lincoln at Butler. Will Franklin finally get to Lincoln?

Out of high school, Wallace Franklin was a speedster wide receiver and a very good cornerback. He also had one of the fastest 400m times in the state as a senior. Nebraska received his commitment and Franklin wasn't able to qualify academically. He was placed in El Dorado (Kans.) Butler C.C. and has since become a very good deep threat at the wide receiver position.

Wallace Franklin was set to become a member of the 2005 class at Nebraska, widely considered to be one of the best in the nation, only to end up a non-qualifier. There isn't any bitterness. No regret. In fact, Franklin is as excited now as what he was over a year ago to be on pace to finally make it to Lincoln.
