Out of sight out of mind I guess as USC somehow managed to hang onto first place despite a big push from LSU who earned 9 of the 25 first place votes. Chris Jennings and Xavier Smith are involved in one of the better battles this spring. Both want a chance to be the No. 1 running back, replacing Chris Henry. They each met with the Tucson media after Wednesday's practice.
Running back was an inconsistent position last season and again the Wildcats enter a season without a lot of experience running the ball. Despite a lack of experience, there is no lack of potential in the group.
