April is usually a month where teams try to find their legs. The Twins, however, got out to a sprinting start to the 2010 season, thanks to some great pitching, and timely hitting. Francisco Liriano found his old form, Justin Morneau and Joe Mauer are killing the ball, and the bullpen has been lights out.

The Minnesota Twins got off to a fast start to the 2010 season this week, taking three of four games from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. After a sub-par effort from starter Scott Baker in game one, the Twins got great starting pitching from Nick Blackburn, Carl Pavano, and Kevin Slowey, and have taken first place in the AL Central going into the season's first weekend.

Scott Lewis was named to the starting rotation in the morning and Carl Pavano pitched well in the afternoon for the Indians in a productive Wednesday. Manager Eric Wedge said Lewis earned the job as Cleveland optioned Aaron Laffey to Triple-A. Pavano then worked six strong innings and Andy Marte, Kelly Shoppach and Trevor Crowe all homered in an 8-4 exhibition win over the host San Diego Padres.
