MID-WEEK MEDIA: Robb Akey

KEY QUOTE: "I thought the students in the stands were awesome. That dome was loud now in the fourth quarter when New Mexico State was out there on offense. You saw how hungry people were, the way the fans were at the close of this ball game. That was a great thing. I certainly appreciate the involvement of the crowd late in the game, because that certainly helped make things be better."

But Idaho's inability to score took its toll as the Bulldogs mounted two fourth quarter TD drives for the 28-16 win. (All images inside by Larry Johnson)

Akey: Candid, unplugged and flyin' high

COVERING A ROBB AKEY press conference is a challenge. The high flying, high octane Idaho head man Vandals' fans have seen on sidelines is only slightly more reserved sitting in front of a mic. Unabashedly candid, Akey opined Tuesday on all things silver and gold -- from motivating his troops to face a heavily favored opponent, injuries, those offseason dismissals and attrition, plus much more.
