Elite Camp on Friday will be a Cougar reunion

IT'S GOING TO be a Cougar reunion this Friday on Mercer Island when college coaches put more than 400 high school players from around the region through drills at the Northwest Elite Football Camp. Camp director Cole Morgan will have five of his old Cougar teammates helping him run what has become a must-event for college programs in the West.

Alfred, five other Cougs earn Pac-10 plaudits

WASHINGTON STATE senior center Kenny Alfred has earned second-team all-Pac-10 honors, the conference announced Tuesday. The recognition for Alfred is especially notable in light of the fact he was playing on the lowest-scoring Cougar offense in modern history. Five other Cougars -- including true freshman Travis Long -- earned honorable mention honors.

Practice Report: Tuel, revamped OL gel

PULLMAN -- Jeff Tuel, taking his first practice snaps as WSU's No. 1 quarterback Tuesday, didn't disappoint. He opened matters against the No. 1 defense with two consecutive completions and later closed the 11-on-11 portion of the afternoon with "oohs" and "aahs" from teammates as he threaded the needle on passes to Daniel Blackledge and Jared Karstetter.
