Players React: Ben Eisenhart

As players go, there's probably few on this Husker team who have a bigger sense of pride about Nebraska than senior safety Ben Eisenhart. He was born in Nebraska, followed the big red and walked onto the team. He understands this program from about every spectrum. It's what makes today hard, but like many others have said, it wasn't a surprise. It's just sad it's happened at Nebraska again.

Trying to go out with a bang

For anyone on the defensive side of the ball, this year has been a struggle. Last week's thumping of Kansas State only helped to somewhat stifle some lingering feelings. A win over Colorado won't erase the year that was, but it would go a long way into picking everyone back up. Plus, it would guarantee them another game. That's how everyone, especially the seniors, want to finish up.

Not a bad last game at home

Senior safety Ben Eisenhart started today, his first start of his Husker career. Not bad for a walk-on who dates back to the Frank Solich era. And for the team to come out and trounce a team after all the trouncings they have taken the last five weeks, this one has to feel good. It's a great home send off for all the seniors involved.

There's no quitting now

For someone who dates back to the Frank Solich era, senior safety Ben Eisenhart has seen his share of trials and tribulations. But nothing can prepare you for what this team has gone through the past five weeks. it's been depressing some of the time, surreal most of it and everyone is just trying to find a brighter side. Something, anything, is what they are looking for, to finish on a high note.

A win equals happiness for everyone

Nebraska continued preparations for their road trip to Austin. It's a game that if you were to base your decision on the last three games, this one is a loss, and potentially an embarrassing one. But neither player or coaches can approach things like that. With at least one new face on offense, they will have to go at it like any other game, and that's with the goal of winning.

Post Game Audio - Ben Eisenhart

Senior safety Ben Eisenhart has gotten used to biding his time. But as anyone knows, you never know when it could come. It did against Wake Forest, and the physical-aggressive Nebrsaka native notched four tackles, and if only for a moment, had an interception against Wake.

One-on-One with safety, Ben Eisenhart

Junior safety Ben Eisenhart may not have gotten his reps on defense until the third quarter, but he didn't waste anytime while he was in. Totaling two tackles for loss, four tackles overall, Eisenhart tied for third on the team in total tackles against Nicholls State. It's a warm up maybe for a bigger game to come when Nebraska heads to California to play USC.
