Alfred, five other Cougs earn Pac-10 plaudits

WASHINGTON STATE senior center Kenny Alfred has earned second-team all-Pac-10 honors, the conference announced Tuesday. Game was forgettable, Ledgerwood was not

SEATTLE -- Linebacker Mike Ledgerwood was an afterthought on the recruiting trail back in 2008 when he was crackin' heads in obscurity for a small high school in a rural conference. Foremost, perhaps, was crispness of the workout -- the Cougars looked light years better than they did in Tuesday's disappointing session. There were also a couple of noticeable personnel changes. On the offensive line, second-year freshman Tyson Pencer took some reps with the 1's, switching off with Steven Ayers at tackle.
