13 Herd Players Named To All-C-USA Teams

IRVING, Texas – A total of 13 Marshall University football players received All-Conference USA honors from the league's coaches Tuesday as junior Albert McClellan was voted to the first-team and seniors Brian Leggett, Darius Passmore, C.J. Spillman and Maurice Kitchens were voted to the second team along with sophomore running back Darius Marshall. Three others were named Honorable Mention.

Field Goal Separates Tulsa From Herd, 38-35

HUNTINGTON - It was one of the best efforts of the season for the Thundering Herd but, much like the season, the result was a disappointment for Marshall and its fans. Tulsa and the Herd traded punches throughout the game that came down to a 22-yard field goal by Tulsa's Jarod Tracy with just 3:42 to play to give the Golden Hurricane a hard-fought 38-35 win over MU.

Basketball-Football Doubleheader For Herd

It's a rare doubleheader for Thundering Herd fans on Saturday, November 29. Well, maybe not so rare, as the Marshall men's and women's basketball teams also have a doubleheader on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 4 p.m. for the ladies (vs. UT-Arlington) and 7:30 p.m. for the gentlemen (against ETSU). But first, Saturday, ODU will face Donnie Jones' team at 11:30 a.m., followed by football vs. TU at 3:30 p.m.

Herd Must Win 2 Of Final 3 For Bowl

Marshall was written off for dead after a stunning loss at UAB. But the Herd rallied and beat Houston, 37-23, at home in a game that wasn't that close. Although the Herd fell to East Carolina in a game that went overtime, 19-16, Marshall can still obtain a number of goals. With two wins in the next three games, the Herd will be bowl eligible for on a Conference USA's six bowls, or win out for 7-5.

Media Day At Marshall Starts 2008

ESPN 930-AM in Huntington was live today from the 2008 Marshall Media Day for football, and also live from "Thunder in the Valley," a Marshall Alumni meeting in Vienna, W.Va. of the Wood County Thundering Herd alums and boosters. Former Marshall assistant "Red" Dawson, portrayed by Matthew Fox in "We Are Marshall" from Warner Bros., told Parkersburg-area fans "support" is giving money to Marshall.
