Roger Herndon had to wait a year to fulfill a dream, but his patience has been rewarded. The former Greenbrier High football standout, who earned Class 3A Mr. Football Back of the Year honors in 2004, has been accepted at Vanderbilt and will join the football squad as a walk-on this fall after being denied admission by the school a year ago.

Record-setting running back <B>Roger Herndon</b> rushed for over 2,000 yards for Greenbrier (Tenn.) High School each of the past two seasons, and this year led the Bobcats all the way to the 3A state championship game. The Mr. Football award winner says his college plans are still in flux, but said Thursday chances are good he will be suiting up for Vanderbilt next fall.

After a spectacular junior season which saw him rush for over 2,000 yards, Greenbrier, Tenn. running back <b>Roger Herndon</b> is receiving interest from a number of colleges across the South. But the 5-11, 185-pounder currently favors a school close to home.
