After a summer of bonding with teammates and preparing for college life, California born defensive back Chris Richards is now ready to begin the next phase of his career. GoBlueWolverine Magazine caught up with Richards at media day on Monday to discuss his summer and what it was that made Michigan such an attractive option.

Michigan 2005 defensive back signee Chris Richards of Monroe High School in Sepulveda, Calif., was a member of the Public squad Saturday in the 54th Annual Southern California Shrine All-Star Football Classic at Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif. GoBlueWolverine.com was there, and spoke with Richards after the game regarding his plans for Michigan.

Reports abound that Michigan defensive back commitment <b>Chris Richards</b> has changed his mind and decided to pledge for the Cal Bears, his longtime favorite, and the school for which his father played. GoBlueWolverine Magazine spoke with Richards Thursday, and he said things aren't quite settled. <br>
<p>Monroe/North Hills, CA cornerback/running back Chris Richards informed Cal Head Coach Jeff Tedford and Michigan Head Coach Lloyd Carr today that he was changing direction and committing to his long-time favorite program, Cal. The 6-0, 167 lb Richards had accepted an early offer at Michigan to play for the Wolverines when he hadn’t heard much from his early favorite.</p>
