Chuck Lofgren pitched six no-hit innings for the Akron Aeros in a 4-3 Eastern League win over visiting Altoona on Saturday. It was the third consecutive strong start for Lofgren, who endured the worst season of his career a year ago. In 2008, the highly regarded left-hander went only 2-6 with a 6.99 ERA for the Double-A Aeros. He also struggled to deal with his mother being seriously ill.

Chuck Lofgren turned the clock back to 2006 on Sunday with an outstanding performance for the Akron Aeros. The left-hander carried a perfect game into the fourth and a no-hitter into the fifth in a 6-3 win at Bowie. It was shades of Lofgren's 2006 season at Kinston, when he went 17-5 with a 2.32 ERA. He hadn't been that good in nearly two complete seasons, including a very disappointing 2008.

For each of the past 15 years, Indians Ink Magazine has ranked the top prospects in the Cleveland farm system. It began as a top 10 list and turned into a top 50 early this decade. This is our third year ranking the top 100 Tribe minor-leaguers. It factors a player's potential, accomplishments, how he's moved in the system, and projects it to what he could bring to the major-league team.
