Chacon Wants to Stay

Shawn Chacon will make his ninth start for the Pirates on Wednesday night against Houston. The 28-year old right-hander grabbed a 6-4 victory over the Dodgers Greg Maddux in his last start. Chacon has been charged with just four earned runs in his last two starts (13.2ip). He has gone 2-3 with a 5.09 ERA in his eight starts with the Bucs since he was acquired from the Yankees on July 31.

Chacon Sidelined

Pirates starter Shawn Chacon flew to Pittsburgh before the game Thursday to have a sore right knee examined. As a result of the examination Chacon will miss his next scheduled start on Monday against the Milwaukee Brewers.
