This afternoon the Western Athletic Conference announced it's men's All-WAC teams, honoring senior MAC HOPSON as an Honorable Mention selection, and naming Marvin Jefferson to the All-Defensive Team. Inside is a press release from University of Idaho announcing the complete team.
Junior guard SHAWN HENDERSON picked up the Vandals when the team was in a bit of a lull, while senior guards Mac Hopson and Steffan Johnson both had career nights for the Vandals. All three joined forces with their teammates to lead Idaho to a victory over Hawaii on Senior Nights, propelling them with a 2-game winning streak heading in tho the WAC Tournament.
IDAHO CAME INTO THIS "SENIOR WEEK" needing to sweep both home games to give the Vandals a .500 record for the season. Thursday night Idaho (15-15, 6-10 WAC) pounded SJSU. Then on Saturday night, riding the wave of senior STEFFAN JOHNSON'S eight 3-pointers (tied for second most in UI history, and the 19th most in the NCAA this year), Idaho beat Hawaii on Senior Night to finish 7th in the WAC.
THE VANDALS BURST OUT OF THE GATE Thursday night at the Cowan Spectrum, building an 18-point lead over San Jose State that propelled Idaho to a key 86-76 victory. Idaho's record now stands at 14-15 on the season (5-10 WAC), with the season finale and "Senior Night" set for Saturday night against Hawaii (tipoff 5:05pm PST). "This win is huge," coach V said. "It gets us in the WAC tournament."

The Idaho Vandals, led by senior point guard MAC HOPSON, return home this week to close out the regular season and battle for position going into the Western Athletic Conference Tournament. Idaho (13-15, 4-10 WAC) will look to even their season record by hosting San Jose State Thursday night (7:00pm PST tipoff), followed by Hawaii Saturday (5:05pm PST tipoff) when Idaho's seniors will be honored.

On the heels of a heartbreaking home loss to Nevada in the final seconds, the Vandal men recovered in style Saturday night to down Fresno State on the road with a 68-59 win. The Vandal victory completed another season sweep of the Bulldogs, with Idaho (12-12, 4-8 WAC) having won the last five meetings with Fresno State. Up next, Idaho prepares for Seattle U this Thursday night in Moscow.

For the second time in 16 days, the Vandals dropped a hard-fought battle on an opponent's last second shot. Last time it was BSU sending the game into overtime with a 3-point heave as time expired. Last night, it was Nevada picking up a foul on a layup that scored, giving the Pack a shot at a 3-point play - which they made - to win the game 67-66 in Moscow in front of a national ESPN audience.

IDAHO HAS WON THREE OF THE LAST FOUR meetings with Boise State, including a sensational season sweep last year. Saturday night, the Vandals handed the overwhelmed Broncos their second worst loss ever to the Vandals, as Idaho jumped out to a 45-19 halftime lead and cruised to a 79-55 victory at Taco Bell Arena. Up next, Idaho hosts Nevada (8:05PM PST) in a nationally televised game on ESPN2.
