Cesar Carrillo surrenders five homers. Mark Hardy has two hits in a pinch-start. Cody Decker homers twice in a loss. Michael Watt gives up six in a loss. Paul Bingham drives in one but has had a tough go in the Northwest League. Stalyn Valdez limits the opposition to two but loses.

Aaron Cunningham and Sean Kazmar both have grand nights while Cesar Ramos is golden. Aaron Breit has not had luck in Double-A. Rymer Liriano debuts in Lake Elsinore. Jerry Sullivan is back to regular duty and looking good. Robert Sabo takes the loss after a solid Adys Portillo outing.

Nick Schumacher takes another loss in a non-save situation. Houston Slemp breaks out of a slump. Carlos Garcia has been hitting but hasn't been fielding. Alvaro Aristy homers while Yoan Alcantara continues to sizzle.

Everth Cabrera rehabs in Lake Elsinore but the Storm are shutout. A Jeudy Valdez errors spoils quality relief from Miles Mikolas, as the TinCaps lose to a walk-off.

Synopsis: The Portland squad, as it is most years, is really more of a taxi squad for the San Diego Padres than a prospect laden minor league team, but there is some talent. Lance Zawadzki could become the Padres second baseman in 2011 and pitcher Wade LeBlanc and outfielder Aaron Cunningham, both of whom barely missed qualifying for prospect status, should see time in San Diego during the season.
