After fighting three tense battles with Cal, Jason Castro and friends took matters into their own hands -- and over the Sunken Diamond walls -- yesterday. Castro's three-run homer put Stanford up 6-4, and David Stringer, David Sandbrink and Rex Petrill made sure that lead stood.

Austin Regional All-Tournament Team

It was a blockbuster weekend for Stanford Baseball, winning three straight games and taking the Austin Regional of the NCAA Tournament by storm. It was no surprise that the Cardinal claimed the lion's share of spots on the All-Tournament Team, with six players on the 11-man roster from the four-team regional. Postseason Off To A Good Start

After barely qualifiying for the NCAA Tournament, the Cardinal proved they belonged on Friday. Behind a complete-game from Greg Reynolds and a 14-hit offensive attack, third-seeded Stanford defeated #2 N.C. State, 7-2, in the opening round. Reynolds went the distance for the fifth time this year while the bottom portion of the Cardinal lineup led the way.

Card Exact Extra Inning Revenge

Stanford and Santa Clara have met twice now this season with both meetings reaching extra frames. Two weeks ago, the Broncos scored five times in the top of the tenth for the win. On Tuesday, Stanford plated four runs in the top of the 15th inning for a dramatic 8-4 victory. Stars Shine In Stanford Win

Randy Molina's one-out single in the bottom of the ninth scored the winning run for Stanford in a dramatic 3-2 victory over Cal. But it was the stars of the team that put forth standout performances to get the Cardinal to that point. Chris Minaker blasted a pair of solo home runs off one of the top pitchers in the country while Greg Reynolds fired a complete-game on the mound.
