FOXBORO, Mass. - The New England Patriots announced the release of six players Tuesday. Their departure is related to the NFL's requirement that all teams reduce their rosters to only 75 players by the close of business (4pm EST). The moves put the Patriots in compliance with the league limit.

The New England Patriots signed four more of their 2006 NFL Draft picks Monday. WR Chad Jackson, LB Jeremy Mincey, TE Dave Thomas and K Stephen Gostkowski all reached deals with the team. In addition to the draft picks, the team added a free agent wide receiver and released an offensive lineman.
